The morning bell rings at 9:00
a.m. so the children should arrive at school by 8:50 a.m. (if not
travelling by bus.)
All
students will line up at 9:00 a.m. and then move into their
classroom. School concludes at 3:20 p.m.
All
books and pencils etc. are provided for your child. However if your
child would like to bring his/her own pencils, this is optional.
The
children need to bring their 'Crunch & Sip', morning tea and
lunch.
At
10:00 a.m. each day the children stop lessons for 'Crunch &
Sip'. This enables the children to have a drink of water and to
eat some fruit. This is a voluntary activity and the water and
fruit is brought from home. All fruit must be cut into bite-size
pieces. The purpose of this activity is to encourage healthy eating
and to give the children an energy boost in the morning.
Morning
tea is from 11:00 a.m. - 11:20 a.m.
Lunch
is from 1:00 p.m. - 1:50 p.m.
Our
school canteen is open on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We are
always grateful for help in the canteen and a note requesting
helpers goes home with the first newsletter.
If
your child wishes to order his/her lunch from the canteen, please
write their name, class and what they wish to order on a paper lunch
bag, with the correct money inside. The lunch orders are placed in
the basket provided in the classroom. Any 'extras', eg, chips,
ice blocks etc. are not included on the lunch order but can be
purchased by the children at little lunch and big lunch. A canteen
price list will go home with the first newsletter.
If
you wish your child to buy something from the canteen at morning tea
or lunch time, do not give them too much money and it is a good idea
to put the money in a small plastic ziplock bag.
If
your child is absent from school for any reason you are required to
either send a note to the classroom teacher explaining the child's
absence when he/she returns to school or
phone the school explaining the absence or
tell the teacher.
Thursday
is sports day and the children should wear their sports uniform and
during Terms 1 and 4 bring their swimmers and towel in a swimming
bag (that is easy to carry) as the children will be going to the
pool. The children walk to the pool and entry is $1.00 for non
season ticket holders. All season ticket holders need to bring
their season ticket.
The
school newsletter, the About, is sent home with the eldest child in
each family every Thursday. Please read the About as it has details
of what's been happening at school and, importantly, what's
coming up.
On
the first day of school Kindergarten children will be given a Year 6
buddy.
All
children are placed into a sporting house. The houses are as
follows:
Children
will require a library bag. School library bags are available for
$4.00 each or you may organise your own. You will be advised of
your child's library day at the beginning of Term 1.
The
school uniform shop is open each school day from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30
p.m.
If
you wish your child to catch the bus to and/or from school you will
need to contact the bus companies to determine which bus to catch.
The two bus companies are Ogden's Coaches in Wellington, telephone
68452800 or Langley's Coaches Dubbo, telephone 68828977.
